Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 24) muse web .org On-going MUSE Events What is a mini-MUSE? Have you attended a mini-MUSE event yet? If not you are missing some of the best educational programs MUSE has to offer. A mini-MUSE is essentially a scaleddown version of a conference. It can focus on one specific topic or theme, or perhaps a couple of closely related topics. A mini-MUSE can be a one or two day event, or simply a dinner or lunch program. The mini-MUSE concept provides even more networking, idea sharing and educational opportunities for MUSE members or prospective members. This is an opportunity to participate in a creative, unique and valuable MUSE program. These affordable, shorter events are offered as an alternative for users who may not be able to attend the larger regional or international MUSE conferences. Recent mini-MUSE events: Electronic Documentation Planning Workshop A focus on documentation trends, issues and challenges. January 20-21, 2009 Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada Thirty MUSE members gathered from hospitals in British Columbia and Washington to learn effective strategies for implementing electronic documentation. This Electronic Documentation (eDOC) Planning Workshop mini-MUSE was staged at the Ramada Convention Centre in Kelowna. The presenter, Terri LeFort of Healthtech Inc., kicked off the day by asking attendees to define their goals of the conference. This technique brought a clear expectation to the event that ensured each person’s needs were met, and set the tone of audience interaction. LeFort then offered examples of successful facilities, while eloquently describing her experiences involving assessment, planning and implementaon of advanced clinicals, including elements of the EHR such as clinical documentation, computerized provider order entry (CPOE) and electronic medication management. In addition to the traditional Power Point presentations, participants enjoyed several small-group activity sessions that encouraged ‘out-ofthe-box’ thinking and brainstorming. This unique format allowed attendees to interact with one another on a level that fostered more in-depth communication and idea creating as well as sharing. “This was a great event all around. I rate it as a 5/5! My favorite aspect was learning what has systematically worked for clinical documentation projects.” Catherine Kashmark 23 SPRING 2009 MUSE INTERNATIONAL http://www.museweb.org Table of Contents Feed for the Digital Edition of Muse Matters - Spring 2009 Muse Matters - Spring 2009 Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 1) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 2) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 3) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 4) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 5) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 6) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 7) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 8) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 9) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 10) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 11) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 12) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 13) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 14) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 15) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 16) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 17) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 18) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 19) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 20) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 21) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 22) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 23) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 24) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 25) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 26) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 27) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 28) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 29) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 30) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 31) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 32) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 33) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 34) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 35) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 36) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 37) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 38) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 39) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 40) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 41) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 42) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 43) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 44) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 45) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 46) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 47) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 48) http://www.nxtbookMEDIA.com
