Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 14) MEET THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS property. Since then I have become a weekend carpenter/electrician/plumber. I find this to be very enjoyable, rewarding and therapeutic. Last year I completed the MBA program at Memorial University of Newfoundland. This was something I always planned to do; I just did not think that I would be in my fifties when I started. All courses were in class and I often joked with my younger fellow students that this was part of my retirement plan. I love golf but with the MBA and my fix-up project something had to suffer. My hope is that golf will be my main focus this summer. I started my career in health care in the late 1970’s, and after about 10 years I moved to the private sector and worked for a Hydro utility. When I returned to health care about 14 years ago I was looking at ways to increase my knowledge with respect to healthcare in general, and specifically health care technology. MUSE International, through its many offerings and networking opportunities, clearly helped me achieve that goal. No matter how often I attend a MUSE event I always learn something new, make a new contact and reconnect with old friends. Being involved with MUSE is very rewarding and over the last 14 years I have never questioned the value that I and my organization have received from this relationship. I have been honored with the privilege to serve on MUSE Boards at various levels, and no matter what is expected of you in these volunteer roles the rewards are greater than the commitment you have to make. My organization has been able to improve the quality and safety of patient care - thanks to the education, products/services and networking (contacts) that our staff have obtained from their involvements with MUSE. terry.mouland@easternhealth.ca Meet Adnan Hamid, MUSE International Director-at-Large I have been involved with MUSE International for the past seven years. My first experience with MUSE was as the Community Wide Scheduling (CWS) Regional Peer Group Leader (RPGL) for what was then Region 6 at the 2002 Regional Conference in Costa Mesa, California. I volunteered to lead this session at a time when my hospital was not even LIVE with MEDITECH, let alone CWS. Subsequently, I volunteered to be the CWS International Peer Group Leader at the 2003 Conference in Anaheim, California and joined the Region 6 Board as the RPGL Coordinator and was briefly the regional chair elect. In 2005, I ran for the open Western US Regional Director and have served in that capacity ever since. The last two years, I have organized and facilitated the CIO Executive Institute at the International Conferences. 13 SPRING 2009 MUSE INTERNATIONAL Table of Contents Feed for the Digital Edition of Muse Matters - Spring 2009 Muse Matters - Spring 2009 Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 1) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 2) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 3) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 4) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 5) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 6) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 7) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 8) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 9) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 10) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 11) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 12) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 13) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 14) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 15) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 16) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 17) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 18) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 19) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 20) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 21) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 22) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 23) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 24) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 25) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 26) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 27) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 28) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 29) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 30) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 31) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 32) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 33) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 34) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 35) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 36) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 37) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 38) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 39) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 40) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 41) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 42) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 43) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 44) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 45) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 46) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 47) Muse Matters - Spring 2009 - (Page 48) http://www.nxtbookMEDIA.com
